7:55pm update – I am happy to report that Ellis is responding well to his sedation levels being reduced a little each day. He’s moving more dynamically now with his whole body. He hadn’t moved his right arm in several days, and I had been praying over his right hand specifically – there are so many verses about God holding us by our right hands. I was holding his right hand and asking him to move it when he suddenly started swinging it in circles above his head!
This is also the first time since he was first sedated, I believe, that his eyes have been wide open. He had really big smiles for the pictures that friends have drawn him and of course the Skillet videos that I played for him. We will meet with the team of doctors tomorrow afternoon or evening and hear more specifics about EEG readings and what next steps are. Clinically he is much improved but his brain is continuing to heal. I wanted to get this out as quickly as I could so that all his many friends eagerly awaiting an update can read this before bedtime.
Continue to pray for:
-More healing days
-No more seizures or setbacks-his stomach – his food does not settle well with him and he has lost a lot of weight. He was skinny to start with.
-Thanks to God for healing thus far.
